Forum description for new web visitors.

This is really just a casual easy going modeling tutorial forum for Caligari Truespace 3D modeling software. It features how to use TS to make 3D models with the software itself. You'll also find downloable files in the form of file attachments to some posts as well a some free 3D models uploaded by forum members. In addition to the main forum it has several sub forums for other Caligari modeling software like Caligari Gamespace 3D. We also have forums for Battlezone II Combat Commander, VRML modeling, and Unreal Tournament modeling plugins for Truespace. The original forum is about a year old now but is still actively maintained by my self as a general teaching aid to other people interested in 3D modleing in general. I welcome you all and encourage interested people to join the forum and share with others what you like about the art of creating things in three dimentional art forms.

The forum is under going constant changes to make it more fun and useful for forum members and web users who happen to stumble across us on the Internet. We also have a Live Chat feature for members wanting to yap with one another if their so inclined. Have fun and enjoy yourself folks. BNG123.

I started using Truespace 7.6 several years back.

The forum is a tribute to Caligari Corporation's 3D modeling software. Caligari's flagship Truespace now lives on in a small, but rather dedicated group of die hard former Caligari fans. 3rd party plugin development still continues even though Truespace software development was stopped by the new owner Microsoft Corporation.

I use it primarily as an advanced model making alternative to Gamespace Lite. It offer's far more features then GSL and totally rocks as far as popular model exporters are concerned. A very cool feature in TS 7.6 is the inclusion of a version of Truespace 6 which in my view is sweet little bonus from Caligari; may it rest in peace and some day like a Phoenix rise from the ashes to give rebirth to Truespace and Caligari itself.

Roman, you sir are a genius and many of us are praying that somehow Truespace will rise again from the sleeping and live again as it should by every stretch of the imagination. Leroy, a fan forever....

My first outing with TS was with version 2 on an old 386 with a 500meg h/d and 16meg of ram  , I don't think I ever managed to make much, I got version 3.2 around the same time I upgrade to a 500ghz AMD my crowning glory was a 2CV monster truck :D , which i re created for a TS speed model challenge a couple of years ago, I bought TS6.6 4 or 5 years ago, which I still use, I don't really gain much from 7.6.
TS is still my primary modeler but Sketchup is used quite alot for structures, buildings etc, I usually export to Carrara or Thea for rendering,
I owe a lot to the TS community, I entered the challenges a lot in the last year of the forum, and won the last ever MMC held there, I remember the first challenge was for boats and being cuffed to get one vote lol

You're very lucky to have gotten TS 2 Nige. I looked all over for it some time back, but could never find that version. I'm very happy that you've done so well with the modeling contest too. I think version 6 is an awesome version and I mostly use that portion of 7.6 to make my detailed models nowadays. Alas, I still get lost trying to model with the new features in 7.6. Don't get me wrong I eventually will start using 7.6, but am still trying to master version 6. Leroy.
