Forum description for new web visitors.

This is really just a casual easy going modeling tutorial forum for Caligari Truespace 3D modeling software. It features how to use TS to make 3D models with the software itself. You'll also find downloable files in the form of file attachments to some posts as well a some free 3D models uploaded by forum members. In addition to the main forum it has several sub forums for other Caligari modeling software like Caligari Gamespace 3D. We also have forums for Battlezone II Combat Commander, VRML modeling, and Unreal Tournament modeling plugins for Truespace. The original forum is about a year old now but is still actively maintained by my self as a general teaching aid to other people interested in 3D modleing in general. I welcome you all and encourage interested people to join the forum and share with others what you like about the art of creating things in three dimentional art forms.

The forum is under going constant changes to make it more fun and useful for forum members and web users who happen to stumble across us on the Internet. We also have a Live Chat feature for members wanting to yap with one another if their so inclined. Have fun and enjoy yourself folks. BNG123.

Simply enchanted with Truespace 3D.

The forum is a tribute to Caligari Corporation's 3D modeling software. Caligari's flagship Truespace now lives on in a small, but rather dedicated group of die hard former Caligari fans. 3rd party plugin development still continues even though Truespace software development was stopped by the new owner Microsoft Corporation.

Simply enchanted with Truespace 3D.

Every time I learn more about 3D modeling in general I am completely and utterly facinated with the act of creating artwork in this three dimentional medium. In the beginning I was driven to just create a few 3D models for an silly antequate video game called Battlezone II Combat Commander. After I achieved this goal to some extent I soon realized that Truespace 3D was infinately more capable of producing high quality models for the sheer boundless pleasure of producing true 3D works of art. As I learn to master the TS material editor and it's endless possiblities; I am once again visually seduced by the amazing rendering capabilties of Truespace. By today's wonderful 3D rendering standards BZII capabilities are quite crude and very limited in the kinds of models that are possible with the BZII rendering engine. Granted for it's time BZII was probably state of the art in terms of functionality, but it pales miserably in comparison to what 3D model making has evolved into nowadays. This simple BZII Bird model was rendered with reflective materials applied and the lighting was adjusted to create an image with a shadow. Truespace supports an endless number of material based effects, Unfortunately, video games like BZII don't support rendering these wonderful effects on my models. Truely a shame for creative 3D model makers like myself. ;)
