Can I still get a copy of Caligari Truespace 6.6 for my own use?

Yes, simply download Caligari Truespace 7.6, or 7.61 beta 8. Version 6.6 is included as an integral component of 7.6x modeling software. I recommend getting beta version 8 as it is the final patched version of Truespace before the version 6.6 was removed by Caligari before it went out of business after being purchased by Microsoft Corporation, and being put in to moth ball by MS.

Is the software easy to learn?

Yes, I'm a non professional model maker and have been using Truespace since 2005. I've all but mastered the software and have made literally thousands of models with it.

Does TS 6.6 support animation?

Yes, it supports object, vertex and bone animation. Additionally, it can keyframe other aspects of a typical 3D scene like animated textures, lighting effects, camera movement, kinematics, and 13 other environmental parameters.

Does it support nurbs curves?

Yes, the software also supports nurbs patches and creating nurbs pathing to create complex objects from a simple premade path library.

Does it support object sub division and object deformation tools?

Yes, objects can be sub divided by angle, quad, smooth quad and triangulation as well.

Does it support material, procedural, light based shaders?

Yes, and material lighting effects are also supported. Additionally, several TSX based addon plugins are available as well.
