In 2008 former founding company Caligari Corporation sold all of it's assets to Microsoft Corporation and formally ended all customer based product support for it's line of modeling software. This was a tremendous disappointment to current Caligari customers still actively using the companies modeling software. Forums like this one serve as unofficial support sites set up by individuals like myself. We still actively use the software and actively post articles and resources still available for the modeling software because we love using it to create 3D artwork as casual model making hobbyist from around the world. In 2012 Microsoft finally demolished the old Caligari web site and effectively removed the ability of new users from downloading the software anymore from Microsoft. However, several individuals like myself had the foresight to upload the old software to various web locations effectively making it available again to other interested web users. Visitors can search the forum for articles, free downloads of the software, plugin addons for the software, and modeling tutorials based around using it to create 3D artwork from a hobbyist point of view.
